Gambini Gilhoolly + Hollowell: In.Novators. Exhibition through April 3, 2007

San Francisco gallery, Micaela, presents William Gambini, New York abstract expressionist, David Gilhooly, Funk Art founder, and David Hollowell, California surrealist, in their first collaborative exhibition.

William Gambini is an abstract and figurative painter who was a member of the infamous New York School of Painting in the 1950's. An important part of the Abstract Expressionist movement, he was a valued peer and colleague of Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Franz Kline, and Mark Rothko, and Pablo Picasso. Gambini states, "Painting for me is a visual experience; a learning process of life and living. I do not have a technique; instead, I use a method which I have developed over the years. The arrangement of configurations, with pigment and color placed on the flat 2-dimensional canvas surface, creates light in time and space without shadows, modeling or perspective." In 1975, Gambini received the Mark Rothko Foundation Grant and moved to San Diego where he continues to paint and sculpt. In 1999, he was awarded the prestigious Pollock/Krasner Foundation Grant. Gambini's work has been shown at the Guggenheim Museum, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Museum of Modern Art (NY).

David Gilhooly is a well-known painter and sculptor, recognized for his contributions to the Funk Art Movement. A graduate of University of California at Davis, Gilhooly collaborated with Manuel Neri, Richard Shaw, and Nathan Oliveira. Originally using ceramics as the medium for his sculptures, Gilhooly tired of the medium and sculpted with Plexiglas and shadow boxes. His paintings and lithographs are as witty and charming as his sculptures. Forever growing as an artist, Gilhooly currently uses a variety of media to surprise, stimulate, and educate our senses. His work is found in permanent collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, as well as in prestigious private collections.... Uranium Mining Stocks Popular with Investors after 50-year Hiatus

StockInterview.com contributing editor, James Finch, found investors are again chasing uranium mining stocks after a fifty-year lull. Finch describes in a recent StockInterview article how the four-year 400+ price appreciation in spot uranium prices and the 700-percent gain in uranium mining industry leader, Cameco Corp, over the past three years, has again whetted investor interest in these mining companies.

Finch found one uranium junior standing out among highly regarded mining newsletter writers, Canadian-based Strathmore Minerals. In a telephone interview, Finch interviewed Edmonton-based geologist, Jody Dahrouge, about Strathmore’s recent conductor discovery in Canada’s Athabasca Basin. Dahrouge rated the newly found geophysical anomaly a “ten” out of possible ten, in comparison with other conductors-that-became-mines previously found in the Athabasca Basin. Will this create another leap of investor interest? Dahrouge told StockInterview.com, “Early indications are that this conductor is similar with other known uranium deposits, graphitic conductors with magnetic lows. It is a long conductor, cut by structures, with deep depth and associated by a late fault. It is a high quality conductor that continues to depth, and it is typical of those occurring that are associated with known uranium deposits.” Strathmore Minerals plans to help cultivate existing domestic uranium resources to supply U.S. utility companies.
