Can anyone have twenty successful businesses on the internet in four years? Six years ago Jane Langdon did not know how to turn on a computer. Today she has twenty internet businesses. You can too.
It all started because her favorite perfume was discontinued. Jane started to study chemistry and learn the internet so she could read everything written about perfumery. She bought a computer and taught herself how to use it. Finally she mixed a perfume. People began to ask her what she was wearing. So she started an internet business, House of Rose, with one rose perfume. Today she has more than 55 long lasting, non alcohol perfumes at www.houseofrose.com.... (Continue reading)

China possesses one fifth of the world's population and has one of the largest drug markets in the world. In 2006, the Chinese pharmaceutical market reached $12 billion dollars, a four-fold increase over the 1998 market value. A series of factors, such as an increasingly aging population, accelerating growth of the urban population as well as expansion of healthcare covering urban and rural areas, will grow the Chinese drug market by 20-25 percent per annum over the next five years. China is expected to become the fifth largest drug market in the world by 2010.
As China joins the World Trade Organization and integrates more completely into the global economy, it will further open the door to a lucrative drug market for overseas pharmaceutical companies. However, the Chinese environment for the protection of intellectual property is complex. Locally produced generics and copy products currently dominate the market. It is estimated that about 97% of drugs produced by local companies are generics or counterfeits.
In order to enter such a lucrative market, pharmaceutical companies need to understand how to file applications for imported drug registration with Chinese authorities. The application and approval process is complex and regulations are variable and lack transparency. Furthermore, facing such a complex market environment, pharmaceutical companies will have an understandable fear that their imported drugs and pharmaceuticals produced in China will be copied; thereby infringing their intellectual property.
Why did Eli Lilly & Company fail in its litigation of patent infringement dispute case in China? Why can Pfizer win in an administrative proceeding against the Patent Reexamination Board of the China State Intellectual Property Office for its Viagra patent? Knowledge of the Chinese regulatory regime is paramount in such a lucrative yet complex market. Two newly published reports available on http://www.free-research.com provide detailed guidance on the lucrative Chinese pharmaceutical market.

While dining at the Daily Grill in West L.A., President/CEO Mark Carter noticed that their employee's tee shirts read, "Deliver Daily". He couldn't help but think about this phrase in the context of his own business. For the past 20 years, Carter has been at the helm, navigating Sequoia Equities, Inc., a real estate investment and property management company, to success. Conservative in his investment approach, Carter, against the advice of many industry executives, did not buy when the market was "hot". Rather, he took this time to make improvements to existing assets, increase tenant services and programs, and build value with an eye toward future opportunities.... (Continue reading)

Moving? An important part of your move is to notify your friends, family and contacts of your new mailing address. One of your most important tasks when moving, often forgotten until it's too late, is to tell people where you're moving to.

An excellent way to get their attention is by sending them an Address Notification Postcard through the mail. Postcards are an inexpensive way to let everyone know your new address. Skokie, IL (PRWEB) September 21, 2006 - Golly Gear, a boutique for small dogs, has opened in its new location at 4104 Oakton St., Skokie, IL 60077.
Golly Gear got its start in the corner of a bookstore in Skokie. “We’ve had small dogs all our lives,” says Hope Saidel, co-owner, with her sister Fran, of Golly Gear. “We know how difficult it is to find even the most basic pet supplies in the right sizes for tiny dogs. Once we found some wonderful products for our own dogs, we wanted to share our finds with other small dog owners.”
Saidel continued “We already had the bookstore, so we just moved some books aside and started Golly Gear in one corner. At first it was just a lark, named for my sister’s Brussels Griffon, Golly. That dog is the ultimate diva – so we knew that if a product was good for Golly, other small dogs could use it, too.”
Before long, the sisters found that Golly Gear was exciting more interest than the bookstore. “It made sense,” Saidel said. “There are a million places out there that sell books. But Golly Gear’s product mix is unique – fun, affordable and practical items, especially for small dogs.”
About a year after going online with http://www.GollyGear.com and in the bookstore, the sisters decided to close the bookstore and devote an entire shop to Golly Gear. The new store is a joy, Saidel says. “We love going to work every single day.”
Golly Gear is now located at 4104 Oakton St., Skokie, IL 60076. Hours of the small dog boutique are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday and by appointment. Phone: 847-677-0680. Toll-free 1-800-694-6531. Website: http://www.GollyGear.com.... (Continue reading)
Record-breaking attempts are old news in the Internet marketing community. Every online entrepreneur wants to outdo the competition. Some of those records are made to be broken, while others are smash proof. The customer acquisition record "The Powerful Promoter," Matt Bacak, set back in April is proving to be one that falls into the latter category. Five months later, Matt Bacak retires promotion still currently ranks as the largest customer acquisition in the Internet marketing community's history - despite valiant attempts by competitors like Joel Comm, Keith Wellman, Mike Filsaime and Stomper Net. Now, even Stomper is getting in on the competition but is proving no match for Bacak's seven-day achievement. Internet markets who would like to leverage the expertise of the reigning record holder can do so online at http://www.powerfulpromoter.com.... (Continue reading)
Lyra Research, the digital imaging authority, will present its next free Webcast, “Decoding China’s Digital Imaging Market,” on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at 2 p.m. eastern daylight time. Watch this Webcast to gain a better understanding of this rapidly changing market for printers and related consumables and to gain insight from Lyra’s recent primary research studies on Chinese consumer and business user markets. Register for the Webcast at www.lyra.com.
About the Webcast
The Webcast is targeted at imaging vendors and will identify Chinese printer buyers, what features they are looking for, what types of consumables they purchase, and how much they print. For example, according to a survey conducted by Lyra Research, 68 percent of Chinese business users with printers own HP-brand devices, and 68 percent of the survey respondents who plan to buy a new printer in the next year will seriously consider buying an HP printer. (See figure: http://lyra6.lyra.com/unitymailimages/china-printer-brand-preferences.gif) The survey results and analysis, which demonstrate Hewlett-Packard Company’s strong foothold in the vast Chinese digital imaging market and its influence on future printer buyers, is published in Lyra Research’s China Market Advisory Service.
Jiqiang Rong, Lyra’s director of primary research, comments on the significance of Hewlett-Packard’s two-pronged dominance. “The findings reveal that HP has not only succeeded in establishing leadership in the Chinese market, but it also shows the staying power of the HP brand in terms of future purchases by current printer owners. Many business buyers have already made up their minds to go with HP. That brand permanence is invaluable in a fast-growing market, where dynamics such as word of mouth marketing play a significant role.”
About the China Market Advisory Service
Larry Jamieson, director of Lyra’s China Market Advisory Service, discusses how this innovative, country-specific market research service is helping clients. “Digital imaging companies in North America, Europe, and Asia, specifically Japan, are scrambling to launch campaigns in China that are strategic and scalable, given the consumer and business markets’ accelerated growth. For some firms, a manufacturing base is already in place there, but the question of how best to leverage such a resource for the domestic market remains unclear. Lyra’s China Market Advisory Service is plotting a course for digital imaging companies throughout the world to identify sales opportunities and anticipate Chinese market trends and consumer needs with actionable competitive intelligence and comprehensive primary research reports that evaluate end-user needs and preferences, and strategic planning insight and guidance from leading analysts in the industry.” For more information, please visit http://www.lyra.com/lh3m.nsf/AdvisoryServices/CMAS. The WildWords Game Company has declared a winner in its contest to find a slogan that would appeal to serious Scrabble(R) players. According to the contest rules, the slogan was to be written in Scrablese which was defined as "the short, odd words in the Official Scrabble Dictionary that never appear in print media and are never spoken."
WildWords, unlike Scrabble(R), is played with a regular English reference dictionary, since any word, no matter how long, can be played in the game. Scrabblese is not essential to playing the game brilliantly. Peter Roizen, the creator of WildWords, said he and other WildWords players simply did not speak Scrabblese well enough to author even a crummy promotional phrase in the language....
